SATA Port Multiplier (FPGA) Datasheet

Application

The IntelliProp SATA Port Multiplier design provides SATA compliant connections to a SATA host and up to 15 SATA devices. The host and device connections are speed independent allowing for speed bridging on the SATA connections. The SATA Port Multiplier allows a SATA host system that is port multiplier compatible to communicate with up to 15 SATA drives. The IntelliProp SATA Port Multiplier is compatible with legacy SATA host systems.

• Automatically performs OOB and speed negotiation
• Independent speed negotiation on each SATA connection
• Compliant with port multiplier behavior as defined in the SATA industry specification, version 2.6
• Supports FIS-Based and Command-Based switching
• High performance with no processor or firmware requirements
• Industry proven and qualified SATA interfaces
• Available for application within Xilinx and Altera FPGAs
